EKG Program
In this comprehensive program, students will gain a deep understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and work environment inherent to an EKG technician, along with the crucial skill of EKG interpretation. The curriculum delves into the intricacies of the anatomy and physiology of the human heart and the broader cardiovascular system. Moreover, students will acquire knowledge about prevalent medical conditions related to the heart and the cardiovascular system.
The program is designed to empower students with mastery in essential skill sets. This includes the precise preparation of patients for EKG procedures, proficient application and removal of leads, live EKG performance, accurate entry of patient data, and thorough documentation upon completion. These hands-on skills are pivotal for success in the field and contribute to a well-rounded understanding of EKG technology.
Upon successfully completing the program, students will be well-prepared to sit for the MedCA national certification exam, validating their proficiency and ensuring they are equipped to embark on a successful career as certified EKG technicians.

**REQUIREMENTS FOR ENROLLMENT INTO PROGRAM:
*GED or High School Diploma
*TB skin test
*Hepatitis B vaccine series (need proof of immunization record to start clinical lab procedures ) and TB vaccination.
(NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A PENDING HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED, YOU MAY STILL REGISTER FOR PROGRAM/CLASS SESSIONS).
